Characters:

DONNA — Female, playable late 30s–50s. The captor. Controlled, deliberate, and devastating in her stillness; she holds every ounce of power in the room and almost never raises her voice — her threat lives in patience, not volume.

Increasingly frightened but never broken; he talks because talking is how he's always prevailed, and he fully believes he can reason his way out.

Characters:

ALLISON - Female, late 20s to early 40s (flexible casting) Smart, funny, independent, and emotionally perceptive. DENNIS - Male, late 20s to early 40s (flexible casting) Charming, earnest, and slightly neurotic. Dennis is a lovable overthinker who approaches life with a mix of sincerity and awkwardness. The relationship should feel authentic, lived-in, and deeply affectionate. As the title implies, heavy kissing intimacy is required. The cast will be working closely with an intimacy coordinator to help facilitate any and all aspects of physical intimacy required of them for this production.

The Test Never Lies by Halle Harper

Synopsis: Two college students, Anne and Sierra, visit a recruitment center under the impression they are receiving personality test results. Katherine and Gary, who are actually cult recruiters, separate the friends for individual sessions, using the opportunity to manipulate them by revealing deeply personal information and sowing discord between them.

SIERRA - (Female, early 20s) A sharp, skeptical, and intellectually driven college student with a dry wit. Beneath her guarded exterior lies deep insecurity and emotional pain. Fiercely loyal and unwilling to be manipulated, Sierra is resilient, confrontational, and emotionally complex. Requires an actor capable of balancing sarcasm, intensity, and quiet vulnerability.

KATHERINE - (Female, 30s) A seemingly kind and slightly awkward recruiter who masks calculated manipulation beneath warmth and empathy. Requires subtle shifts between sincerity, discomfort, and quiet menace.

GARY (Male, 40s–50s) A seasoned recruiter who is calm, authoritative, and psychologically intimidating. Professional and composed, Gary expertly dissects people's emotional weaknesses with unwavering confidence. Charismatic yet unsettling, he believes completely in his mission, making him a compelling and dangerous antagonist. Strong presence and command of dialogue are essential.
